Setting up Spotify Integration on Haptique RS90 

Connect your Spotify account to the Haptique Config App using a Client ID and Secret for secure control of browsing and playback.


1 Prerequisites

  • Your phone (running the Haptique Config App) is connected to the Internet.
  • A Spotify account (Premium recommended for full playback control).
  • A Spotify Application with Client ID and Client Secret (see below).

2 Open Device Pool

  1. Launch the Haptique Config App on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the Device Pool tab from the main screen.

3 Add a New Device

  1. Tap the “+” icon on the Device Pool screen.
  2. Scroll to find the Spotify section.
  3. Tap the “+” icon next to the Spotify label.

4 Add Spotify Account

  1. In the Spotify section, tap + Add Account (top‑right).
  2. Enter your Client ID and Client Secret (how to get these is explained below).
  3. Press Submit.
  4. You will be redirected to the Spotify login page — sign in with your Spotify credentials.
  5. After successful login, tap Go Back.
  6. Your Spotify account now appears in the Device Pool and is ready to control.

5 How to Create a Spotify Application (For Credentials)

Haptique needs application credentials (Client ID and Client Secret) to communicate securely with Spotify.

  1. Log in to the Spotify Developer Dashboard.
  2. Click Create an App (top‑right corner).
  3. Enter any App Name and Description.
  4. Set the Redirect URI to:
    https://app.cantatacs.com/app/integration/spotify/auth/webhook
    Important: copy exactly; do not modify.
  5. Select Web API access and agree to the Developer Terms, then click Save.

After the app is created:

  1. You’ll be taken to the Basic Information tab.
  2. Click View Client Secret to reveal your secret key.
  3. Copy your Client ID and Client Secret for use in the Haptique Config App.
Device Added Successfully

Once your Spotify account is added, it will appear in the Device Pool. You can browse playlists, control playback (play, pause, next, previous), and view current status. Premium accounts unlock full playback control; free accounts allow browsing and status view only.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure your phone has an active Internet connection.
  • Verify the Redirect URI is entered exactly when creating the Spotify app.
  • Confirm your Spotify credentials are correct.
  • Use a Premium account for full playback control (recommended).
